The folks at Google are stinkin’ genius. Sometimes I wish I could have this much fun with my job…
If you’ve got some spare time on your hands, go check out how they did it.
As annoying and cumbersome as it may be to update my self-hosted Wordpress site… I have to say I’ve been quite impressed with the last 2 updates that they’ve rolled out. Version 2.7 brought a very slick new UI that I absolutely love. Now… version 2.7.1 brings a brand new Dashboard module called “Quickpress.” Check out the screenshot below.
This is a fantastic little add-on to the already impressive Wordpress UI. For those of you spontaneous bloggers, this will be a handy tool. Excuse me while I go upgrade to 2.7.1.

I’ll have to admit, one of the hardest things about switching to a Mac 3 weeks ago was losing Picasa. As a PC user and a photographer, I’ve used Picasa extensively over the past 4 years or so to organize and edit my photos. Picasa is a GREAT program and it’s free… I’m so stoked to hear that they finally released a beta version for the Mac. I’ve downloaded the beta and already put it to use tonight. The thing I love about Picasa in comparison to iPhoto is its ability to make non-destructable edits and save that your edits / changes to the photo within the Picasa software… so you can always go back and undo changes… forever. Great stuff! If you’re a Mac user, go get Picasa!
